Consumers eager to revamp their homes

There is no shortage of French reproduction furniture and shabby chic furniture for consumers to make the most of these days and new research suggests that demand for products like this may be high at present.

According to a survey conducted by Nationwide Building Society, many consumers in the UK are keen to revamp their homes. Investing in new items of furniture can be an effective way to enhance the look and feel of different rooms and there are plenty of options for individuals to consider.

The firm revealed that 47 per cent of homeowners are planning to make improvements to their properties within the next year. In contrast, only eight per cent of the individuals polled were planning to move.

Meanwhile, among those who wanted to revamp their abodes, 72 per cent were keen to modernise their décor, while nine per cent were running out of space in their houses and flats.

To help them fund the alterations to their residences, some people were taking out loans and the most common sum was £10,000 to be repaid over five years.

Commenting on the findings, Nationwide’s head of personal loans Paul Wootton commented: “A static housing market means many people are unable to move home and are opting to make home improvements instead.”

Many of the consumers who are keen to source French reproduction furniture, shabby chic furniture and so on now head online to find what they are after.

This form of shopping can be highly convenient and it is also possible for individuals to take advantage of a wide range of products when they look for items in this way.
