Brits keen to redecorate new homes
When consumers move into new abodes, they often want to put their own stamp on the properties. To help them achieve this, they can invest in new wood kitchen products.
It seems as though demand for products like this may be high in the UK at present. Research conducted by Planitherm found that British consumers have to spend around £5,044 on personalising their pads before they consider them to be home.
On average, the process of transformation takes around 17 months and 12 days to complete.
It was also revealed that the living room is considered a priority by many consumers, followed by the main bedroom and then the kitchen. Thankfully, there are plenty of traditional kitchen products for individuals to choose from these days.
Meanwhile, as well as redecorating, individuals needed to experience certain things in their new properties before they felt at home.
For example, around 40 per cent of home owners said they had to stop receiving the previous owner’s mail before they felt completely at ease, while one in five said they needed to be on first name terms with their neighbours.
Also, putting up framed photographs and hosting social events like Christmas, family gatherings and barbeques was also deemed important by many.
Commenting on the findings, Planitherm spokesman Craig Dodsworth said: “There are many aspects that go into creating a real home and we all have a seemingly never-ending to do list for things we hope to improve. But it seems as well as improving the environments we live in we have to experience certain moments or aspects of life under a roof in order to call it a home.”
He added: “We’re very territorial and it’s no surprise to see that we like to feel a place is really ours by quickly getting rid of the previous owner’s influence on the property.”
