Why Memories Keep Us Happier

Those of us with better memories tend to be happier in our lives, not only being able to remember good times in more detail when we might otherwise feel very low or morose, but also finding that we are able to adapt to stressful situations more easily as we can use lessons we have learnt in the past to more effectively navigate any potential hardships.

As such, those with poor memories can often find that, should things get stressful, they are more prone to feeling depressed or unhappy. However, whether one has a good or bad memory, there are still plenty of ways to improve our links to the past and in turn feel far happier in our every day lives, come rain or shine.

Whilst there will be many memory exercises one can do to improve their cognitive recall, simply chronicling our past may help us to remember events far more clearly. The more photographs we take of events and the more often we write journals detailing the important or happy times of our lives, the more likely we are to remember our pasts in greater detail. Therefore, by simply getting photo printing online, there is a chance that one could actually end up being far happier in their everyday life.

When things get hard, it is often the memories we have that pull us through. If we remember how close we have been with friends or times when bad situations have turned out well in the end, we are likely to be a great deal more optimistic than if we cannot relate our current predicaments to past experience or even remember just how many good friends we may have to lean on.

Therefore, any links we have to the past will be important to keep us happy, and from photo prints to videos even through to simple letters we may have received from friends or loved ones, the more items we can keep as links to the past, the happier we are going to be.
