The Solar Installation Process

For most homes and factories the solar installation process is very straightforward. There are three basic phases to the installation process. The first is assessment of your property and its suitability for solar panels. The second step is the installation of the actual panels and configuration of the converter and connection to your home and the grid. The third phase is monitoring the system to ensure that it is running efficiently and making any adjustments that are needed to ensure that it does so.

The Solar Installation Process – Assessment

The assessment process involves understanding how much power you need, checking where the solar panels can be installed and which system you can have. The idea of the assessment process is to make sure that the panels are placed on your property in the best possible location. Factors such as which way your roof faces, the size of your roof, and the angle of your roof all dictate which panels can be installed on your property. These factors also, to a large extent, dictate how effective the system will be at generating power for your home.

The Solar Installation Process – Installation

The installation process is very straightforward. First the frame work that will hold the panels in place is installed then the panels themselves are fitted to this framework. At this stage the installation is checked to ensure that it has not caused any damage to the roof or other area of the building it is being installed upon. Poor installation can lead to leaks, so this checking process is vital.

The last part of the installation process is connecting solar panels to the house and setting up the feed into the National Grid.

The Solar Installation Process – Assessment

Homeowners and business owners then have the system explained to them. The installation engineer explains to them how much electricity their system should generate and how to monitor that generation. In addition, the maintenance process is also explained at this stage. Many firms return to clients a few months after installation to check that everything is in order.
