You may well have the best products or services at the very best prices in the world, but if no one knows anything about you then you are unlikely to have a huge amount of business when you first open.Whilst this may well change over time as people get to hear about you or stumble across you, to make the biggest impact and to ensure that you set yourself up as a competitive business right from the start, it is important that people know about you before you even open.

Creating a buzz about your new business will mean that, even if you aren’t the most revolutionary of businesses, people will still come to you to see what you have to offer when you open. The novelty factor can therefore create a great deal of business, and so long as you have good customer service this could well lead to customer loyalty and great deal of repeat custom.

Therefore, your initial advertising campaign needs to be extremely effective. However, at the same time, it is wise not to put too much money into advertising before you have even made a penny, as this will lead you to spend far too much time trying to recoup your initial investment.

Advertising banners are one cheap option, allowing you to get maximum publicity at a very low price. Hanging banners will instantly catch the eye and get people talking, allowing them to put a face to a name the moment you open. By creating a somewhat cryptic campaign in the weeks before you open, you can build up expectation greatly and a combination of cheap banners and simple flyers may be all it takes, especially if you take the time to devise the right content to pique interest and excitement as much as possible.
