Shopping for a new Subaru London buyers can be pleasantly surprised by the array of different cars and vehicles that the Japanese manufacturer has for sale. They have become renowned for the manufacture of the Impreza rally car and they also offer the Outback which is, effectively, an estate tourer. The XV is Subaru’s entry into the increasingly large crossover market and the newly released BRZ is a complete departure for the company, being a rear wheel drive coupe.
Subaru has been crossing new boundaries in its manufacture, not least with the crossover XV. It is, basically a compact SUV, or a larger than normal family car, and it enters a market that is owned by Nissan with both the Qashqai and the Juke. It still drives like a Subaru, with the diesel engine being arguably the best of the three available engine choices. It is reliable, very practical, and comes with a good selection of options and extras to choose from.
The Outback Estate offers the best of a tourer with the combined benefits of a capacious estate to boot. It is actually slightly larger and taller than a standard estate so if you need the additional room then it is a real bonus; a bonus that you will struggle to find in many other cars on the market because this is a small niche.
The WRX STi is the latest Impreza in all but name; the manufacturer has now dropped the Impreza name in favour of the simpler WRX moniker. It has the powerful engine that buyers are likely to be expecting and comes in either hatchback or saloon form. There are various trim and engine levels available, too, but you can enjoy just shy of 300bhp thanks to a larger intercooler and variable valve timing lift.
Entirely new to the Subaru factory is the BRZ. It is a two door coupe and it features a 2 litre boxer engine that has been used in previous versions of the Impreza. It is light and easy to drive, and it provides an impressive 200bhp which you will certainly notice thanks to the low centre of gravity and great driving position.
