There are plenty of ways to visit Italy and plenty of things to see whilst you are there. However, many people make the mistake of staying in a resort in one of the more well-known cities and simply exploring that area in depth, with maybe the odd excursion elsewhere for good measure.
However, by seeking out your own holiday villas in Italy, you can often stay for as long as you like, usually for far less, and in areas that will truly give you a sense of Italy as it really should be seen.
For example, for those who wish to see Piza, Florence and Rome, choosing villas in Italy in the less well known area of Montecatini and then renting a car or buying a train pass may offer you the perfect Italian experience. Not only is Montecatini likely to be far cheaper to stay in than the major cities, but it also has some of the best food and spas in the entire country and a famous funicolare, which will offer breathtaking views of the Tuscany region.
By being more central to many interesting places, it will be easy to take trips to places such as Piza and Florence, which will both be less than an hour away, and even to Rome which itself can be done in a day, and still allow you to get back to the holiday in Italy you have chosen long before bed time. Furthermore, if you like one city more than another, you will be perfectly placed to head back there time and time again, rather than being stuck in a city you have had your fill of simply because you are staying there.
Not only will hunting out villas in Italy in less well-known destinations such as Montecatini offer far easier access to the big cities you wish to see, but it will also allow you a more relaxing holiday and one that more effectively allows you to experience the real Italy.
