Now may be a good time for consumers to invest in new shelves

At this point in the calendar, many consumers resolve to make improvements to their lives and, in some cases, this includes enhancing their abodes. As part of this process, individuals may opt to invest in new shelving.

Commenting on the timing of domestic revamps, design experts Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan recently stated: “Our best advice, while planning home remedy, is to be mindful that now is the perfect time to ‘seasonally adjust’. Chances are, due to the weather, you’re outdoors less so use this time to prepare (at least in concept) for spring.”

Writing on yourhome.ca, the celebrity duo also advised consumers to take their time when looking for new products for their home.

About this, they remarked: “Remember our rule; ‘think twice, buy once’. That, dear readers, means no impulse snatch, and no knee-jerk grab. And therefore no buyers’ remorse.”

They also noted that it is a bad idea to introduce too much clutter into rooms. They commented: “It’s important, too, that you consider our ‘one in, one out’ rule; the idea is to enhance your 2013 environment rather than congest it before it’s even begun.”

One effective way to de-clutter homes is to invest in additional shelves. These items are ideal for storing books, DVDs, CDs and other items neatly away.

These days, consumers can head online to source the products and, as long as they know where to look, they should succeed in finding versions that perfectly meet their needs.

Meanwhile, for those who are considering changing the colour of their rooms, Colin and Justin claimed it is not a good idea to blindly stick to what happens to be in vogue at the time. They stated: “Adhering to forecasts is one thing, but tread carefully. Colour affection, as we see it, is more about personal preference and good design more about listening to your heart, and merging aspects into that which you already have.”
