Personalised business cards can be hugely effective. However, to achieve the best results, it is important for entrepreneurs to make sure they get their designs right.

Commenting on the usefulness of these small items, an article on The Economic Voice stated that good business cards “can convey the best possible message about you and your business in just a few seconds for relatively little outlay”.

According to the news source, it is important for businesspeople to think not only about the basic information they include on the items, but also to consider the branding image they send out.

It went on to suggest that not all cards need the name of an individual person on them, but this can be a “nice personalised touch”. Meanwhile, the name of the business “tends to be the most prominent and be in bold text on the card”.

Another important element of custom business cards is a physical address, email address or both. Meanwhile, there can be multiple numbers, including landlines, mobiles and faxes. However, it is best to leave out any numbers that are not the preferred method of contact, the article. About this, it noted that “sometimes less can be better”, adding: “Don’t make it look cluttered.”

Offering further suggestions, the news source remarked: “A very short tag line that describes your business can be important, especially where the company name itself isn’t self-explanatory. It is important to use a logo on your card in order to establish brand awareness or business identity.”

After choosing a layout for text or images, it can be helpful to select an “interesting design” for the cards, the news source stated.

Whatever designs people choose, it is important that they select a card printer capable of producing top quality results. The items should look professional and impressive.
